22/ Youth 'key' driver of Jordan's modernization project-Odat
Amman, Mar. 13 (Petra) - Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Moneim Odat, said youth are the main driver of the Kingdom's modernization project, with its three political, economic, and administrative tracks. The minister noted this policy ensures strengthening youth-related role and engagement in public life, the decision-making process, and shaping the future. During his meeting with a youth delegation from "Young Political Vision" initiative, held Thursday at the ministry's headquarters, Odat noted the state is "steadily making progress" in the process of modernization and development in all aspects, despite regional and international circumstances. Odat stated the Kingdom's political modernization project reflects Jordan's "robustness and resilience" and its capability to respond to internal and external changes. Additionally, he said Jordan's youth have a "historic" opportunity to seize, as the Kingdom's constitutional amendments and the Political Parties and Election Laws have contributed to providing a "suitable" environment for youth to exercise their political rights. Under the new legislations, he noted youth could engage in party-based programs, shed concerns of past experiences, and enhance their access to Parliament. Odat called on young people to seize this "monumental" opportunity to achieve an "effective and influential" partisan life, which would produce a parliament based on programmatic party blocs. //Petra// AG
