Beirut, March 15 (Petra) – Lebanese President Michel Aoun called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities, fulfill its guarantees and commitments, and translate its supportive stances for Lebanon into actionable steps.

In a speech delivered on Saturday evening at Dar al-Fatwa, Aoun emphasized that the implementation of UN Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement is a pivotal issue requiring attention and care. He stressed that Lebanon cannot achieve stability and prosperity amid ongoing tensions along its southern borders.

Aoun noted that normal life cannot resume in the affected areas of Lebanon without the enforcement of international resolutions that ensure Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the return of Lebanese detainees.
