28/ Institute of Public Administration holds 2nd Ramadan forum on New Digital Era
Amman, March 15 (Petra) – The Institute of Public Administration organized its second virtual Ramadan forum on Saturday, focusing on the "New Digital Era," under the patronage of the Minister of State for Public Sector Development, Khair Abu Seileek, with the participation of 160 employees from various ministries and public sector institutions. The series of virtual Ramadan forums aims to enhance efficiency and innovation within the public sector, offering forward-looking insights into digital transformation and sustainability in public administration. The forums focus on knowledge enhancement, self-development, and fostering the sustainability of government work, targeting leadership and employees within the public sector. Youssef Assaf, President of the Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai, delivered a comprehensive presentation on digital transformation, outlining a framework consisting of 25 key building blocks for achieving excellence in the digital transformation journey. He explained that the framework is based on four main pillars: fundamentals, which focus on leadership, digital governance, and future foresight to ensure sustainability and readiness for transformations; values, including skills, service design, and enhancing transparency and legitimacy to ensure tangible value; organization, based on a culture of innovation, supporting ecosystems, and developing flexible business models that adapt to changes; and technology, covering the use of emerging technologies, enhancing digital security and resilience, and ensuring integration and smart connectivity standards. Siham Khawaldeh, the institute's Director General, emphasized that institutional culture plays a central role in adopting and succeeding in digital transformation. She stressed that effective digital change requires building internal awareness that promotes innovative thinking and encourages adaptation to technological developments. The attendees expressed their appreciation for the presented topics, affirming the importance of keeping up with digital transformation to enhance public service efficiency and achieve sustainable development. //Petra// AF
