11/ Israeli aggression on Tulkarem refugee camp continues, families uprooted

Ramallah, March 17 (Petra) – An Israeli raid into the city of Tulkarem and nearby refugee camp in the north of the occupied West Bank continued on Monday for the 50th day in a row, with more homes destroyed and families uprooted.

The local Tulkarem governorate said in a statement the Israeli occupation army forced families in Tulkarem camp to flee their homes in an ongoing policy of forced displacement.

It said 200 Palestinian families were forcibly removed from their homes in Tulkarm camp in the past 24 hours and those staying were told they must leave and not return.

In the Southern West Bank, Jewish settlers assaulted Palestinian homes in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.

Osama Makhamreh, the official monitoring Israeli violations in the flashpoint Masafer Yatta, said a group of settlers attacked homes and a family in Susiya village was assaulted.

The settlers target livestock and shepherds, pastures, and homes, to force villagers out of their lands for Jewish settlement expansion in the region.

Last month, Jewish settlers carried out 230 attacks, which were focused in Nablus and Hebron (43 each), Ramallah (38), and Jerusalem (25). Some 68 acts of vandalism and property theft were also documented, according to NGOs and rights groups.
