24/ Jordan Reduces Abandoned Aircraft at National Airports from 32 to 12
Amman, March 17 (Petra) -- Jordan has reduced its number of grounded aircraft from 32 to 12, the Kingdom's top aviation official said Monday as lawmakers approved amendments to the civil aviation law. Captain Haitham Misto, head of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, said the government is working "at a high pace" to address the remaining aircraft and prevent future groundings. "The amended law tackles the root causes behind these groundings," Misto said following the House of Representatives' vote. The legislation specifically addresses regulatory issues that led to the aircraft being stranded at Jordanian airports, though Misto did not specify how long the planes had been grounded or which airlines they belonged to. //Petra// AA
