14/ Police Arrest 13 Drug Dealers in Raids Across Kingdom
Amman, March 18 (Petra) – The Anti-Narcotics Department of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) has intensified its efforts against drug trafficking, handling nine high-profile cases across the Kingdom in recent days. A total of 13 drug dealers were arrested, and large quantities of narcotics were confiscated. The most significant case took place in the Northern Badia, where investigations into a previous seizure of 126 hashish packs and 6,000 narcotic pills led to the identification and arrest of the suspect. In Amman, multiple raids resulted in arrests and drug seizures. One dealer, who resisted arrest and attempted to flee, was found with 14 hashish packs. Another was arrested in possession of the same quantity. A third operation led to the apprehension of two individuals suspected of drug trafficking, with 12 hashish packs confiscated. In Irbid, a drug dealer was caught using a farm to store narcotics, where authorities seized 9 kilograms of marijuana. In Madaba, a raid resulted in the confiscation of 11 kilograms of hashish. Additionally, a dealer in the Central Badia was arrested with 2 kilograms of marijuana. A major operation in Mafraq saw the arrest of two dangerous drug dealers following a violent confrontation with security forces. Officers seized 11 kilograms of hashish and a firearm. The latest case involved the foiling of a smuggling attempt at Queen Alia International Airport. A passenger carrying 1.5 kilograms of crystal meth was arrested, leading to the apprehension of two other individuals linked to the case. //Petra// AO
