32/ Foreign Ministry says its following up on accident involving Jordanian family in Saudi Arabia
Amman, March 18 (Petra) – The Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs is closely following up on a car accident involving a Jordanian family in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, which resulted in the death of two children and multiple injuries. Sufian Qudah, Director of the Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate, stated that the accident occurred on the Mecca-Medina highway, injuring the parents and four children. The victims were transported to nearby hospitals, where their conditions range from stable to critical. The bodies of the two deceased children were also removed from the accident site. The Jordanian Consulate General in Jeddah is coordinating with Saudi authorities regarding the incident, and a team from the consulate has visited King Abdullah Hospital in Jeddah to check on the condition of the injured Jordanian citizen. Qudah confirmed that the directorate is in continuous contact with the family’s relatives and is facilitating all necessary procedures, including arrangements for repatriating the children’s bodies if their family wishes.
