9/ Jordanian Food Exporters Pursue Global Reach at London's Premier Food Showcase
Amman, March 18 (Petra) -- A delegation of Jordanian food manufacturers has launched a strategic push into the UK market, participating in the World Food & Drink Event (IFE 2025), which opened Monday evening in London. The three-day exhibition provides a critical platform for Jordanian companies to showcase their diverse product portfolio, spanning confectionery, baked goods, spices, nuts, and specialty food items, to a global audience of buyers and distributors. Ahmad Khudari, President of the Jordan Exporters Association, the driving force behind Jordan’s participation, emphasized the event's significance in forging new trade partnerships and expanding market access. "Our objective is to establish direct channels with international buyers and distributors, highlighting the competitive edge and superior quality of Jordanian food products," Khudari stated. In a press release issued Tuesday, Khudari underscored the exhibition's role in facilitating strategic networking and business development, particularly within the burgeoning halal food sector. He reiterated the vital role of exports in driving economic growth, stating, "Expanding our market reach is essential for stimulating domestic production, fostering industrial expansion, attracting foreign investment, and strengthening our trade balance." Halim Abu Rahma, General Manager of the Jordan Exporters Association, reported strong buyer interest, noting, "The event has drawn significant attention from key international buyers, providing Jordanian companies with a valuable opportunity to showcase their product innovation and quality standards." Abu Rahma highlighted the association's commitment to supporting Jordanian exporters in accessing key international trade shows, thereby diversifying export markets and unlocking non-traditional trade avenues. He emphasized the strategic importance of the UK market, citing its post-Brexit autonomy and substantial Arab and Muslim consumer base. "The UK market offers a unique opportunity for Jordanian food manufacturers to establish a strong foothold," Abu Rahma said, urging companies to leverage the Jordan-UK Free Trade Agreement. The exhibition, featuring 1,500 exhibitors from across the globe, is expected to attract 30,000 international buyers and distributors from over 105 countries. The Jordan-UK Partnership Agreement, enacted in 2021, aims to strengthen bilateral trade relations, offering tariff-free access for Jordanian products, mirroring the benefits of the Jordan-EU trade agreement. Last year, bilateral trade between Jordan and the UK reached approximately JD303 million, with Jordanian exports accounting for JD62 million, highlighting the potential for further growth. //Petra// AA
