17/ QAlA Passenger Traffic Rises 9% in First Ten Months of 2025
Amman, Nov. 17 (Petra) – Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) received 8,138,748 passengers between January and October of 2025, marking a 9 percent increase compared with the same period last year. In October alone, passenger numbers reached 836,066, reflecting a 23.8 percent rise over October 2024. Aircraft movements grew notably to 7,135 in October, up 30.1 percent from last year, while cargo volumes increased to 6,526 tonnes, an 8.4 percent rise compared with October 2024. Over the first ten months of the year, total aircraft movements reached 66,403, an increase of 6.9 percent, while cargo volumes stood at 58,073 tonnes, down 8.9 percent. Nicolas Deviller, CEO of Airport International Group (AIG), said October’s results demonstrate continued momentum in air traffic growth and reinforce Queen Alia International Airport’s position as Jordan’s main gateway to the world. He noted that improved regional stability, the launch of Eurowings’ direct flights to Stuttgart, Royal Jordanian’s new routes to Casablanca and Al-Ula in Saudi Arabia and the resumption and expansion of Ryanair operations to 18 major European cities, its largest winter schedule to date, have all strengthened global connectivity and supported inbound tourism. These achievements, Deviller added, reflect the joint efforts of the airport’s teams and partners, along with the region’s gradual air travel recovery. He stressed the airport’s commitment to sustaining growth, enhancing passenger experience and supporting the development of Jordan’s aviation and tourism sectors. //Petra// NQ
