Amman, Nov. 26 (Petra) The Media, Public Relations, and Radio Unit at the University of Jordan was awarded the "Best Institutional Communication" prize during the ICON Summit for Content and Media, held Wednesday under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein and under the theme "Creativity First: Where Creativity Meets Media and Influence."

The award recognized the unit’s excellence in managing institutional communication and fostering effective engagement between the university and the wider community, as well as its leadership in knowledge dissemination and strengthening its institutional media presence, thereby consolidating the university’s position in strategic communication and professional media messaging.

University President Nathir Obaidat expressed pride in this achievement, noting that it represents the university’s first major recognition in media and institutional communication. He emphasized that the success was the result of coordinated efforts by administrative and professional teams working harmoniously to elevate the unit’s performance among peer academic institutions.

Obaidat affirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting the unit and other administrative departments, providing all necessary resources, and recognizing the leadership’s passion and dedication to excellence in media work.

Unit Director Rakan Abu Orabi described the award as a collective achievement for the university community, highlighting the pivotal support of the university president in enhancing the unit’s capabilities and professional impact. He added that the recognition reinforces the unit’s responsibility to build upon its accomplishments with innovative and inspiring media initiatives that reflect the university’s identity and mission.

The ICON Summit gathered content creators, media professionals, and academic and media institutions from across the Arab world to celebrate creativity and positive societal impact, showcasing Jordan as a regional hub for education and media excellence.
