14/ KSrelief completes dates shipments for distribution to Jordan's underprivileged households

Amman, Nov. 27 (Petra) – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre (KSrelief) has completed the shipment of trucks loaded with dates to Jordan, marking the official launch of its 2025 Food Security Project.

According to a statement issued Thursday by Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), the project is being implemented with KSrelief's support and its partnership.

This initiative is part of joint humanitarian efforts between the two brotherly kingdoms to strengthen food security and support the most vulnerable families across Jordan's governorates.

On its goals, the project aims to contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals by combating poverty, reducing inequality, and promoting health and well-being by distributing dates to vulnerable Jordanian families and Palestinian refugees nationwide.

The project includes the distribution of 500 tonnes of dates loaded on 22 trucks to the governorates of Amman, Irbid, Mafraq, Zarqa, Jerash, Karak, Balqa, Ma'an, Madaba, Aqaba, Tafila, and Ajloun, aimed to improve food security and alleviate the financial burdens on beneficiary families.

To ensure that aid reaches its intended recipients accurately and fairly, coordination was established with the Ministry of Social Development and the National Aid Fund to identify lists of vulnerable Jordanian families, while authorities also engage with Department of Palestinian Affairs to identify beneficiary Palestinian refugees within Jordan.
