4/ Jordan Condemns Israeli Incursion, Strikes on Syria’s Beit Jinn
Amman, Nov. 28 (Petra)-- The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs on Friday strongly condemned the Israeli military’s incursion into the town of Beit Jinn in Damascus countryside and its bombardment of the area, which resulted in the killing and injury of dozens of Syrian civilians. The ministry described the attack as a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, a grave breach of international law, and a dangerous, provocative escalation that will only fuel further conflict and tension in the region. Ministry Spokesperson Fouad Al-Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s absolute rejection and firm condemnation of what he called a "flagrant Israeli act of aggression" targeting a sovereign Arab state and directly endangering the lives of its citizens. He stressed the urgent need to halt all Israeli attacks and actions on Syrian territory, noting that such violations contravene the United Nations Charter and Israel’s obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. Majali reiterated Jordan’s unwavering solidarity with Syria, emphasizing the Kingdom’s support for the country’s security, stability, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He urged the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel to cease its unlawful and provocative assaults on Syria, end its occupation of Syrian land, and fully respect international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the sovereignty of states. The spokesperson also extended Jordan’s deepest condolences to the government and people of the Syrian Arab Republic and to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. //Petra// MF
