Amman, Nov. 30 (Petra) -- The fourth session of the Jordan–Azerbaijan Joint Committee for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation concluded in Baku following meetings held from Nov. 26 to 27. The session was chaired by Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance Sahib Babayev.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the committee reviewed a number of issues related to strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic fields, including increasing trade volume and encouraging investment activities.

The two sides signed several agreements and memoranda of understanding, including the 2025–2027 Executive Program for Cooperation in science and education, culture and arts, youth and sports, antiquities, health and media; an Agreement on Customs Cooperation and Mutual Assistance; a tourism MoU and executive program between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board; and an MoU between the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) and Azerbaijan’s Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA).

Minister Qudah said the meeting reflects the political will of both countries to expand economic cooperation, improve trade exchange, facilitate private-sector activity and diversify Jordanian exports to Azerbaijan. He also stressed the need to address trade barriers and enhance communication between the relevant institutions.

He added that follow-up on the outcomes of the meetings is important to support trade exchange, encourage investment projects, and benefit from Jordan’s position as a gateway to regional markets and reconstruction efforts in Syria, as well as from the incentives offered to investors in the Kingdom.

Minister Babayev affirmed Azerbaijan’s readiness to strengthen cooperation in trade, industry, investment, health, energy, agriculture, transport, tourism, and the digital economy. He also welcomed Jordanian participation in exhibitions held in Azerbaijan and noted interest in implementing joint projects in key sectors, including pharmaceuticals and agriculture.
