  49/ Transport minister, British ambassador discuss strengthening cooperation

Amman, Oct. 8 (Petra) – Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatamin, discussed on Wednesday with British Ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various transport sectors.

According to a ministry statement, the meeting focused on prospects for developing Jordan's transport sector and benefiting from British expertise in the land, maritime, rail, and air transport fields, and meteorology areas, which would contribute to raising "efficiency" of this vital sector and enhancing its role in supporting the national economy.

Qatamin emphasized the "deep-rooted and distinguished" Jordanian-UK relations, noting Jordan's aspiration to achieve further cooperation and exchange expertise in the transport field, which would benefit common interests.

In turn, the British envoy expressed his pride in the level of bilateral ties, stressing his country's readiness to provide the "necessary" technical support and expertise to develop Jordan's transport sector.

The diplomat also expressed Britain's "keenness" to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
