8/ Filming Wraps on "Jewel of the Desert: Saint Catherine’s Monastery" in Jordan

Amman, Oct. 8 (Petra) -- The Orthodox TV has wrapped up filming for the second and third parts of the documentary "Jewel of the Desert: Saint Catherine’s Monastery," capturing both historical interviews and dramatic reenactments in Wadi Rum and the ancient city of Jerash.

The film explores pivotal moments in religious and cultural history, portraying the stories of the Prophet Moses and Saint Catherine, including her famous intellectual debates before Emperor Maximian and Roman philosophers.

In a statement, the production team expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Royal Film Commission – Jordan, and all supporters and volunteers whose efforts made the project possible.

Archbishop Christophoros, Archbishop of Jordan for the Greek Orthodox Church and the project’s general supervisor, praised the dedication of the cast, crew, and partners for their role in completing what he described as a "spiritual and cultural achievement."

Specialized artistic teams recreated the essence of the Roman era through cinematic visuals, detailed set design, historical costumes, props, and lighting, bringing history to life with authenticity and creativity.

The documentary’s final phase is underway, with its official release planned for the Feast of Saint Catherine in December.
