21/ Third cultural season starts in Bani Kinanah in Irbid
Irbid, October 12 (Petra) -- The third cultural season officially launched Sunday in Bani Kinanah District in Irbid, organised by the Women's Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. The event aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of female preachers across the Kingdom, focusing on community awareness, women's empowerment and promoting the values of moderate Islam. The opening activities featured lectures by several key figures, including Lamees Hazeem, Director of the Women's Affairs Directorate; Ali Daqamseh, Director of the Ministry's Media Unit; Rima Shahwan, Advisor to the Minister of Awqaf; and Sultan Qaraleh, Head of the Department for Combating Extremism and Its Consequences. Speakers discussed the role of female preachers in promoting understanding, tolerance and coexistence, while addressing the importance of family, volunteerism and balanced living. The lectures underscored the need for effective communication skills in delivering a moderate religious discourse aligned with the principles of the Amman Message. Nour Obeidat, Head of the Women's Affairs Department in Bani Kinanah, presented an overview of the department's programmes and initiatives across the governorate aimed at raising community awareness among women on a range of social and religious issues. //Petra// AK
