5/ Jordan, U.S. Business Leaders Explore Pathways to Expand National Exports to American Market
Irbid, Oct. 12 (Petra) -- The Irbid Chamber of Industry held discussions with a delegation from the Jordanian American Business Council, led by Dr. Tareq Al-Hassan, to examine strategies for strengthening trade and investment ties and boosting Jordanian exports to the United States market. Chamber President Hani Abu Hassan, accompanied by several members of the Chamber’s General Assembly, underscored the strategic importance of the U.S. market, describing it as one of the largest and most influential globally. He emphasized that expanding Jordan’s industrial footprint there is crucial for diversifying export destinations and enhancing national export revenues. Abu Hassan noted that Jordanian industries have built a solid reputation internationally for quality and reliability, which positions them favorably to capture a larger share of the American market. The meeting also reviewed investment prospects for Jordanian enterprises, as well as success stories of Jordanian firms that have achieved measurable growth in the United States, encouraging other companies to pursue similar expansion strategies. Dr. Al-Hassan said the visit aligns with the Council’s efforts to deepen economic linkages between Jordan’s domestic business community and its counterparts in the U.S., adding that the Council aims to provide technical, logistical, and marketing support to Jordanian exporters seeking to penetrate or scale in the U.S. market. He highlighted the Council’s commitment to fostering public–private collaboration and building sustainable industrial and investment partnerships that contribute to long-term economic growth and trade balance improvement. The two sides agreed to convene an expanded business forum at the Irbid Chamber of Industry to showcase the Council’s programs, outline future initiatives, and highlight promising export opportunities for Jordanian industries. They also announced plans to organize a Jordanian Industries Exhibition in September 2026, aimed at promoting Jordanian manufacturing competitiveness and reinforcing the Kingdom’s export presence in the U.S. market. Both parties affirmed the importance of continued coordination to advance Jordan’s industrial sector, enhance its global competitiveness, and support the Kingdom’s broader economic development objectives. //petra// RZ
