23/ Momani commends Jordanian youth's volunteer roles, urges wider media engagement
Amman, Oct. 16 (Petra) – Minister of Government Communication, Dr. Mohammad Momani, said volunteer work is an "authentic societal value" that contributes to consolidating a culture of positive engagement in Jordan's local development and serving the people. During his meeting at the ministry headquarters on Thursday with "Youth Are Our Support-Nahia Bel Shabab" volunteer initiative team from southern Ma'an governorate, Momani stressed the importance of Jordanian youth's role in digital media and media-related literacy, commending their role as part of a "positive, informed" discourse in confronting misinformation and hate speech. Momani, who is also Official Government Spokesperson, said this effort aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to empower youth and promote the values ??of awareness and responsibility. Momani praised the team's efforts and the spirit of initiative, adding that the dialogues with young entrepreneurs reinforce confidence in Jordan's "great and promising" future, as youth energies are the Kingdom's "renewed hope." Jordan, he noted, will confront digital challenges in the media space with its citizens' awareness, professional media and legislation that protects society. In turn, the team members discussed their proposals on the Kingdom's media and communications landscape, calling for enabling youth in the country's governorates to access media platforms, expanding the scope of training in communication and digital media skills, and encouraging production of purposeful content. The team also valued the Ministry of Government Communication's efforts in opening "direct" communication channels with Jordan's youth and listening to their opinions and ideas, which contribute to developing national media performance. //Petra// AG
