29/ King meets with members of Hungarian Parliament in Budapest
Budapest, Oct. 16 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday met with the heads and members of parliamentary committees and groups in the Hungarian Parliament to discuss ways to expand cooperation, in service of both countries. His Majesty highlighted the importance of parliamentary friendship groups in promoting political dialogue and building bridges of communication between the two peoples, noting their role in supporting efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East. During the meeting held in Budapest and attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy the King stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation, highlighting opportunities in education, tourism, and trade. The meeting also covered developments in the region, with His Majesty calling for ensuring full implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza, and the flow of sufficient, urgently required relief and medical aid. The King said the region will not enjoy security and stability without Palestinians obtaining their full legitimate rights and establishing their independent state, on the basis of the two-state solution. For their part, a number of members of the Hungarian Parliament emphasised the importance of expanding and deepening cooperation between the two countries in various fields, expressing their appreciation of Jordan’s role in protecting the Christian presence in the region. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Hungary Mohammad Hindawi attended the meeting. //Petra// MF
