Amman, Sept 17 (Petra) – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources held a specialized two-day training workshop on methods for extracting data and information from exploration and prospecting reports and building project databases, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The workshop focused on reviewing the agency’s expertise in exploration, mining, and engineering projects by training participants on methodologies for creating and structuring databases for the mining sector.

It also covered extracting information from decades of archived exploration and prospecting reports available at the Directorate of Geology and Mining and integrating it into modern databases using ArcGIS Pro software.

The Royal Jordanian Geographic Center hosted the workshop in its halls equipped with geographic information systems and remote sensing software, with participation from its staff to support the ministry’s efforts to develop the information infrastructure of the mining sector.
