  10/ Industrial Producer Prices Fall 2.73% in Jan-Feb 2026

Amman, April 13 (Petra) -- The Industrial Producer Price Index decreased by 2.73 percent in the first two months of 2026 compared with the same period of 2025.

On a monthly basis, the overall Index fell 2.64 percent in February compared with the same month of 2025, based on 2018 as the reference year.

The index stood at 104.11 points in the January-February period of 2026, compared with 107.04 points in the corresponding period of 2025.

For February alone, the index reached 104.21 points, compared with 107.04 points in February 2025 and 104.02 points in January 2026.

By major component, prices in the manufacturing sector, which carries a relative weight of 88.74 percent, fell 3.43 percent in the first two months of 2026 compared with the same period of 2025. By contrast, extractive industries, with a relative weight of 5.36 percent, rose 4.96 percent, while electricity prices, which account for 5.91 percent, increased 1.18 percent.

In February 2026, compared with the same month a year earlier, manufacturing prices declined 3.25 percent, while extractive industries rose 3.24 percent and electricity prices increased 1.36 percent.

Compared with January 2026, the overall index edged higher in February, driven by a 0.37 percent increase in manufacturing prices and a 0.35 percent rise in electricity prices, while extractive industries declined 3.22 percent.
