Amman, April 15 (Petra) -- The Health and Professional Oversight Department at the Greater Amman Municipality, in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), held a workshop on the harms of smoking and electronic smoking as part of the "Wellness Ambassadors" program, with the participation of employees and youth volunteers.

The workshop addressed the negative impact of smoking on public health, as well as the role of oversight and inspection measures in combating it, urging intensified community awareness.

Director of the Department Wissam Abu Khalaf underscored the need to strengthen monitoring efforts and raise awareness, commnding youth volunteers in promoting health messages.

The municipality also reviewed efforts under its anti-smoking strategy, which integrates regulatory and awareness components to improve public health, reduce smoking-related diseases, and support the creation of a safe and healthy environment.
