Amman, April 21 (Petra) –Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) on Tuesday celebrated World Creativity and Innovation Day (WCID), in presence of the CEO of King Abdullah II Center for Excellence, Wedad Qutaishat.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the TRC said the celebration aligns with national efforts to support digital entrepreneurship and spur "innovative" ideas aimed to develop service "efficiency" and keep pace with the rapid advancements in the digital world.

TRC Chairperson Lara Khatib said the day is an "important" opportunity to reiterate commitment to building a "robust knowledge-based economy and a cohesive society to face challenges and create opportunities."

Khatib added that innovation at the TRC is "not limited to stimulating new ideas, but is an institutional approach that translates into excellence in leadership, efficient performance, service quality and achievement of sustainable outcomes."

For many years, she noted the TRC has participated in regional and international initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation in the cybersecurity, digital transformation, and service innovation fields.

On its significance, she stated the postal and logistics sector contributes to establishing a "leading" national position as a "safe and stimulating" environment for innovation, attracting international companies to develop their businesses within a framework of trust and stability.

In turn, Qutaishat stated the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence plays a "pivotal" role in promoting a culture of innovation across various fields, particularly the public sector.

Qutaishat said this effort is made, as the center focuses its standards, programs, and awards on establishing an "institutional" environment that supports innovation and building an "integrated and supportive" system to stimulate innovation within government institutions.

During the celebration, the first ad hoc dialogue session of its kind was launched, showcasing creative ideas presented by TRC's staff and its innovative initiatives.
