28/ Jordan, Austria sign military cooperation agreement on training, expertise exchange

Amman, April 22 (Petra) -- The Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) and Austria on Wednesday signed a cooperation agreement at the General Command aimed at expanding military cooperation and advancing the exchange of expertise and training between the two sides.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Jordan Armed Forces by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Hunaiti, while the Austrian side was represented by the Austrian ambassador to Jordan, Marieke Zimburg.

The agreement seeks to strengthen coordination and develop bilateral cooperation frameworks, with a focus on military training, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building programs, to support the readiness and operational efficiency of both armed forces.

It falls within a broader framework of cooperation programs implemented by JAF with several militaries, reflecting efforts to keep pace with military developments and strengthen defense capabilities.
