5/ National Team Stars Rally Behind Relaunch of Prince Ali Youth Centers

Amman, April 22 (Petra) -- The national team players have publicly backed the relaunch of the Prince Ali Youth Centers, framing the initiative as a cornerstone for developing the next generation of football talent.

Current and former internationals took to their digital platforms to recall how the centers shaped their early careers, with several describing them as the starting point of their professional journeys.

Forward Musa Al-Taamari said the program played a decisive role in his development, calling the relaunch "a step in the right direction" to nurture emerging talent. Striker Yazan Al-Naimat said the centers provided opportunities that helped players reach the national level, expressing appreciation for the decision to revive them.

Defender Ehsan Haddad described the initiative as a new pathway for future players, noting that his own career began within the same system. Similar sentiments were echoed by Mohammad Abu Zrayq, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, and Oudah Al-Fakhouri, who highlighted the centers’ role in shaping their early development.

The move follows directives issued by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to relaunch the centers under an updated framework, with broader geographic coverage and training programs aligned with international standards.

During a meeting at the Jordan Football Association, the Crown Prince emphasized the need to build on recent progress, including the national team’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup, and highlighted the role of Prince Ali bin Al Hussein in advancing the sport.

Observers say the relaunch signals a shift toward institutionalizing talent development, moving beyond individual pathways to a more structured system aimed at sustaining performance at the national level.

Fans also welcomed the initiative, viewing it as a step toward expanding the talent pool and strengthening the long-term competitiveness of Jordanian football.
