15/ Army chief, PSUT head talk tech training cooperation
Amman, April 23 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, on Thursday received Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) President, Professor Wejdan Abu Elhaija. During the meeting held at the General Command Headquarters of Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, Abu Elhaija was accompanied by the Dean of Student Affairs and a number of university students. The discussions, which were attended by several senior JAF officers, focused on frameworks for joint cooperation and coordination, particularly in the areas of technical and technological training and scientific research, in a bid to support and enhance the army's modernization and development process. Huneiti underscored the JAF's commitment to strengthening "strategic" partnerships with Jordan's academic institutions, which would enhance development of "high-quality" national capabilities, based on knowledge and technology. Abu Elhaija, in turn, valued the JAF's national role at all levels, affirming the university's commitment to providing all forms of cooperation with the army in various fields. //Petra// AG
