3/ Jordan Leads International Aid Convoy to Lebanon
Amman, April 23 (Petra) -- Jordan has dispatched a joint international humanitarian aid convoy to Lebanon, carrying food supplies, tents, and essential relief items, in a coordinated effort involving multiple partner countries. The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization said the convoy, comprising 19 trucks, was organized with the participation of 10 countries alongside the European Union. The initiative was launched under royal directives and is being implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army. Participating countries include Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Romania, Portugal, Germany, Singapore, Luxembourg, Spain, and the Netherlands, in addition to Jordan. Secretary-General of the organization Hussein Shibli said the effort aims to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of humanitarian assistance in line with international standards. He added that the convoy reflects Jordan’s role as a regional hub for humanitarian action and a platform for coordinating international relief efforts. Shibli noted that the organization will continue to strengthen partnerships and expand its humanitarian response in line with evolving needs, reaffirming Jordan’s commitment to supporting affected communities. He also expressed appreciation to Syria for facilitating the convoy’s transit through its territory.
