Amman, Apr. 24 (Petra)-- The Public Security Directorate (PSD), through the Royal Department for Environmental Protection, the Media and Community Police Department, and various field units, has continued implementing environmental monitoring and awareness campaigns across the Kingdom’s governorates, in conjunction with the growing number of visitors to tourist attractions, natural sites, and recreational areas.

The campaigns aim to protect the environment and promote responsible behavior among citizens, while encouraging a more civilized and environmentally conscious approach to public spaces.

Personnel from the Royal Department for Environmental Protection and Community Police were deployed among visitors and holidaymakers to raise environmental awareness and reinforce the concept of shared social responsibility in preserving the cleanliness of these sites and safeguarding their natural components.

As part of the initiative, officers distributed waste collection bags to visitors and provided guidance encouraging them to gather their litter and avoid leaving waste behind. These efforts are intended to reduce negative practices, preserve the beauty of natural locations, and ensure their sustainability.

The PSD emphasized that these campaigns are part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen environmental protection efforts, calling on citizens and visitors alike to comply with instructions and actively participate in preserving the environment, stressing that environmental protection is a shared national responsibility that requires collective cooperation to ensure a clean and safe environment.
