4/ JPA Postpones General Assembly Meeting Over Lack of Quorum
Amman, Apr. 24 (Petra) – President of the Jordan Press Association (JPA), Tareq Al-Momani, announced on Friday the postponement of the Association’s ordinary General Assembly meeting until next Friday, May 1, 2026, due to the lack of the required legal quorum. Al-Momani explained that the decision was made in accordance with Article 26 of the Association’s law, noting that the second meeting will be held at the same time and venue and will proceed with those in attendance to discuss the items listed on the agenda. The agenda includes several organizational and professional issues, most notably reviewing the administrative and professional reports related to the Council’s work, approving the final accounts for the past fiscal year, and endorsing the budget for the new year. It also includes discussions on proposed amendments to the Association’s law, revisions to the Journalists’ Code of Ethics, amendments to the housing system, and a proposal to conduct an actuarial study for the Cooperation and Social Security Fund. Article 22 of the Association’s law stipulates that the General Assembly, in any meeting it holds, consists of all members who have paid their annual subscription fees and any other financial obligations due under the provisions of the law and the regulations issued pursuant to it. //Petra// MF
