Amman, April 26 (Petra) -- The Jordan Company for Developing Cities and Facilities on Sunday held a specialized workshop on the Amra City project, bringing together experts and specialists to discuss urban development and planning.

The workshop builds on the company’s dialogue-based approach and reflects its commitment to engaging experts, specialists, local communities, and the private sector throughout all stages of the project. The company said such engagement is essential to drawing on professional expertise and developing effective models for sustainable cities.

The project aims to establish the foundation for a modern green city that observes sustainability and quality-of-life standards, creates promising investment and economic opportunities, and provides sustainable jobs for future generations.

During the session, participants discussed the concept of making the city accessible to all segments of society, mechanisms for providing housing and employment within its boundaries, and ways to ensure the fair distribution of basic services across all neighborhoods.

They also reviewed the groups most likely to relocate to Amra City, its role in easing population pressure on nearby cities, and the competitive and complementary advantages it can offer compared with those cities.

Participants also addressed effective connectivity models linking Amra City with Amman and Zarqa, as well as the most suitable internal mobility system for the city. They stressed the importance of making walking and public transport core mobility options for residents.

Participants underscored the need to build an inclusive and integrated city that guarantees equitable access for all and provides a comprehensive urban environment that meets the needs of current and future generations.
