24/ Jordan Petroleum Refinery posts JD 75.5m profit; approves 50% dividends

Amman, April 26 (Petra) -- The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) reported a net profit of JD 75.5 million for 2025, up from JD 73 million in 2024, reflecting stable profitability despite global market pressures.

At its 70th General Assembly meeting, shareholders approved a 50% cash dividend payout, underlining the company’s strong financial position and consistent returns.

JPRC allocated JD 5 million to its voluntary reserve and JD 19.5 million to support its fourth expansion project, the refinery modernisation initiative. Provisions were made to strengthen mandatory reserves linked to subsidiary activities.

The company recorded net sales of about JD 1.5 billion in 2025, driven by refined petroleum products, liquefied gas and mineral oils, highlighting its key role in meeting Jordan's energy needs.

Chair Abdul Rahim Baqai said JPRC maintained its leadership in the Kingdom's energy sector despite geopolitical tensions and oil price volatility.

Baqai added that the company has sustained stable profit margins over the past five years through diversified operations and effective strategic planning.

The firm faced challenges from regional conflicts that disrupted supply chains and raised shipping and insurance costs. In response, it increased inventory, diversified supply sources and improved cost efficiency to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply.

JPRC plans to expand exports to neighbouring markets to diversify revenue and strengthen its regional presence.

CEO Hassan Hyari reported progress on the refinery modernisation project, which will have a capacity of 73,000 barrels per day.

The upgrade would introduce advanced processing units to improve product quality and convert heavy crude into higher-value products.

The project cost has been reduced to about $1.7 billion, down from $3 billion, following design revisions. It would be implemented based on a roadmap developed by Technip, the project's management consultant.
