21/ Jordan, Saudi Arabia discuss rail connectivity projects
Amman, April 27 (Petra) -- Transport Ministry Secretary-General Fares Abu Dayyah on Monday held a coordination meeting with Deputy of Railway Transport at the Saudi Transport General Authority, Bader Al Hujailan,þ to discuss cooperation in railway projects and developing regional rail connectivity between the two countries. The meeting, held via video conference with technical delegations from both sides, focused on enhancing integration in the transport sector and supporting trade flows and cargo movement between the two countries and the wider region. The talks reflected a commitment by both sides to advancing transport integration, Abu Dayyah said, stressing the importance of railway connectivity projects in facilitating trade and improving the movement of goods. The Saudi side reviewed key projects, including the "East Train" and the "North Train" extending to the Jordanian border, in addition to the readiness of the Al-Qurayyat area for rail linkage. The Jordanian side presented an outline of the National Railway Network project and implementation priorities. The two sides also discussed technical and logistical issues, including harmonizing technical specifications and exchanging relevant studies and documents to improve implementation efficiency and ensure project integration. //Petra// NQ
