29/ Jerash, Germany's GIZ officials discuss waste management, sustainability
Jerash, April 27 (Petra) -- Governor of Jerash, Malik Khraisat, met on Monday with representatives from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to discuss expanding bilateral partnerships in environmental sustainability and solid waste management. The meeting, attended by the head of the Greater Jerash Municipality committee, Mohammad Bani Yassin, focused on improving waste sorting mechanisms at the source and evaluating the operational status of the local transfer station. Officials discussed strategies to modernize the sector’s infrastructure to enhance service efficiency and public health standards in the northern governorate. The talks highlighted the primary challenges facing waste management in Jerash, emphasizing that international partnerships are essential to support municipal efforts and achieve long-term environmental goals.
