19/ Bunayat Center for Special Education hosts "World Cultures Day" to promote inclusion

Amman, April 28 (Petra) -- Bunayat Center for Special Education (BCSE), a non-profit charitable organization, on Tuesday hosted a "World Cultures Day" event, with participation of the Ambassador of Thailand to Jordan Jiraporn Jirampaikul and representatives of several accredited embassies, aimed to integrate students with disabilities and introduce them to global cultures.

The event forms part of an approach to expand modern learning opportunities for students with disabilities and strengthen their presence in cultural and humanitarian spheres as active members of society.

It also provided direct engagement with diverse cultures and human experiences.

Representatives from the embassies of China, Switzerland, Japan and Thailand took part in interactive stations featuring musical and artistic performances, handicrafts, traditional cuisine and folk dances reflecting the identities of participating countries, highlighting culture as a bridge for human connection.

Addressing the event, Thai ambassador said "giving is a universal language that knows no borders, noting the embassy was keen to showcase aspects of Thai culture, sports and crafts to enhance engagement with students."

Meanwhile, the center's director Baheia Misk said the event reflects a firm belief in the right of persons with disabilities to engage with the world and explore diverse cultures through sensory and artistic tools tailored to their abilities.

She added the initiative aims to boost social inclusion and develop students’ skills through direct interaction with representatives of different cultures, stressing that music and arts remain powerful universal languages that foster acceptance, diversity and self-confidence.

Exhibiting "strong engagement," students participated in theatrical and musical performances, in a scene that underscored the role of interactive activities in strengthening their sense of inclusion and confidence in expression and communication.
