26/ House Speaker: Jordan's political reform drives women, youth empowerment

Amman, April 28 (Petra) – Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Mazen Qadi, affirmed the Kingdom's political modernization process, which has received direct guidance and support from His Majesty King Abdullah II, serves as "a lever: for empowering youth and enhancing their participation in decision-making.

Qadi noted youth are the foundation of the present and the hope of the future, as Jordanian youth stand on the threshold of a new era, aimed to increase participation and achievement.

According to a House statement on Tuesday, Qadi made the remarks at "Renewing Educational Practices in Light of Modern Educational Changes" conference held at Irbid National University.

Qadi also noted His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah places "great" importance on youth by supporting their potential and providing a nurturing environment for their creativity, based on the belief that investing in this group is an investment in the Kingdom's future.

He stated the conference's theme reflects a "profound" awareness of the current era and its formidable challenges and promising opportunities.

In Jordan, guided by His Majesty's visions, education, particularly higher education, has become the "cornerstone of building a sustainable, knowledge-based economy capable of competing regionally and globally," he pointed out.

Qadi said His Majesty King Abdullah II has given this sector his utmost attention, believing in the importance of human development.
