Amman, April 28 (Petra) - The Ministry of Environment announced on Tuesday that a driver has been referred to the competent authorities for legal action after a video of him throwing trash out of his car window went viral on social media.

The ministry stated in a press release that, in coordination with the Public Security Directorate, the vehicle was identified, and the driver was fined under the current Traffic Law. Officials emphasized that such behavior causes significant environmental damage and undermines public cleanliness.

The ministry underscored that these enforcement measures are part of an ongoing national campaign to curb illegal littering and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Citizens were urged to refrain from throwing waste out of vehicles or in public spaces, citing the negative impact on both the environment and public health.

Furthermore, the ministry encouraged the public to report similar violations to help the authorities hold offenders accountable and foster a culture of collective responsibility for environmental protection.
