Amman, April 28 (Petra) - Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya on Tuesday approved the release of 418 administrative detainees following a comprehensive review of their cases by administrative governors.

The decision is part of the ministry’s ongoing policy to provide detainees with the opportunity to reintegrate into society and resume their normal lives with their families.

The move follows an extensive evaluation of individual files and the nature of each case, with authorities determining that the periods of detention served were sufficient.

The ministry stated that the release underscores a humanitarian approach to administrative detention, ensuring a balance between legal guarantees and the necessary security measures required to curb criminal activity.

By reviewing these cases periodically, the ministry aims to facilitate social reform while maintaining the legal and security protocols essential for public safety.
