  9/ Drift Championship round one qualifiers begin Thursday, finals Friday

Amman, April 28 (Petra) – Qualifying rounds for the opening stage of the Jordan Drift Championship will commence on Thursday at the Dead Sea Circuit under floodlights, with final runs scheduled for Friday.

Organized by Jordan Motorsport and sponsored by Zain Jordan, the event will feature 31 drivers representing Jordan, Palestine, and Egypt, offering spectators high-intensity drifting performances across two days of competition.

Under the supplementary regulations, administrative scrutineering, race number allocation, and technical inspections will be conducted on Wednesday at the Dead Sea venue. A drivers’ briefing will also be held to outline track specifications and confirm the list of eligible starters.

Organizers set 4:00 p.m. Thursday as the deadline for vehicles to enter the service park, with no access permitted beyond that time.

Track reconnaissance on foot is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, followed by optional practice sessions in race cars from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in line with the approved timetable. The first qualifying session will begin at 8:30 p.m., followed by the second session at 9:30 p.m.

For Friday’s final stage, competitors and support crews must enter the service park by 4:30 p.m. Optional practice runs will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., ahead of the main competition, which will feature the top 16, 24, or 32 drivers starting at 8:00 p.m.
