34/ PSD urges responsible tourism as spring season peaks
Amman, April 29 (Petra) -- The Public Security Directorate (PSD) issued a call to citizens on Wednesday to practice responsible and civic-minded behavior during outdoor excursions, emphasizing the shared duty of maintaining the cleanliness of the kingdom’s natural and public spaces. The directorate wished citizens a safe and pleasant upcoming weekend as the summer season approaches. The appeal coincides with a significant increase in families visiting parks, forests, and archaeological sites to enjoy the spring weather and Jordan's diverse natural landscapes. The PSD underscored the importance of adhering to sound environmental practices while traveling. Key recommendations included disposing of waste only in designated areas, using specific zones for barbecues and campfires to prevent wildfires, and safeguarding trees and public facilities. According to the statement, environmental preservation during family outings is a reflection of social responsibility toward nature. The directorate encouraged families and youth to instill these positive habits in children to ensure long-term ecological sustainability. The directorate expressed its appreciation for the many citizens who already demonstrate high standards of civic cooperation and cleanliness. It noted that such civilized practices contribute significantly to making the spring season more beautiful and safer for all visitors. The security body concluded its message by reinforcing that the enjoyment of nature is a privilege accompanied by the responsibility to protect it, describing environmental stewardship as a patriotic act that reflects a commitment to the nation’s heritage and beauty. //Petra// AF
