37/ Irbid Industry Chamber, GIZ partner to launch studies on workplace inclusion for PwDs

Irbid, April 29 (Petra) -- The Irbid Chamber of Industry, in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), has launched a series of specialized studies aimed at assessing and enhancing the readiness of factories to employ persons with disabilities.

The initiative, part of the "Promoting Green Activities in Industrial Enterprises" (GAIN) project, seeks to support comprehensive inclusion practices within Jordan's industrial sector. The studies focus on improving physical accessibility within the work environment, adapting labor conditions to meet diverse needs, and strengthening corporate policies that foster a more inclusive and equitable workforce.

According to a statement released by the Chamber on Wednesday, the project involves on-site field visits and technical assessments of manufacturing facilities. These evaluations are designed to identify barriers to entry and provide practical solutions for creating sustainable and inclusive work environments.

Beyond physical infrastructure, the initiative includes capacity-building activities for factory management and staff. These training sessions aim to equip industrial leadership with the tools and knowledge necessary to implement effective inclusion practices and manage a diverse workforce.

The Irbid Chamber of Industry noted that the project aligns with broader efforts to enhance the social sustainability of the industrial sector, ensuring that economic growth provides fair opportunities for all segments of society while meeting international labor standards.
