Amman, August 16 (Petra) - Jordan's Youth center occupancy rates across Jordan rose "steadily" in the second quarter of 2026, driven by an expansion of local activities and central programs, according to a Ministry of Youth report on Sunday.

The report revealed overall occupancy increased from 45 percent in April to 51 percent in May, reaching 54 percent in June.

Local program engagement saw "significant" growth, climbing from 13 percent in April to 20.57 percent in May and 23.9 percent in June.

Meanwhile, centrally launched ministry initiatives maintained steady participation, accounting for 32 percent of occupancy in April and 30 percent in both May and June.

To track operational efficiency, the ministry introduced a performance metric measuring the actual hours utilized for activities against total available operational hours.

In press remarks, Ministry Secretary-General Mazen Abu Baqar noted that the quarterly gains reflect efforts to modernize center infrastructure, empower staff, and deliver tailored programming.

He added that tracking these indicators helps the ministry assess performance, address local needs, and "optimize" facility usage across all governorates.
