Amman, Aug. 16 (Petra) -- Pope Leo XIV renewed his call on Sunday for an end to violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank. He urged the international community to work toward achieving a two-state solution to secure a just and lasting peace.

Speaking following the recitation of the Angelus prayer at his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, the pontiff said he was reiterating his appeal for a halt to repeated acts of violence targeting Palestinian civilians in the territory.

According to Vatican News, Pope Leo also issued an urgent plea to the international community to take concrete steps to advance a two-state solution as the path toward long-term peace and stability in the region.
