Amman, August 17 (Petra) - Prime Minister Jafar Hassan declared Tuesday, August 25, a public holiday to mark the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.

The closure applies to all ministries, public departments, government institutions, state universities, municipalities, joint service councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and fully state-owned companies. Essential services requiring round-the-clock operations are exempt.

Hassan called on government agencies to hold "appropriate commemorative events" for the occasion.
