39/ King’s visit marks ninth trip since accession: China
Amman, August 17 (Petra) - His Majesty King Abdullah II's visit to China will mark his ninth official trip to the country since ascending the throne, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said on Monday. During the visit, the King will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on bilateral relations and regional and international issues. The King is scheduled to meet with Premier Li Qiang and Chair of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Zhao Leji. The King's itinerary includes stops in Shanghai and Shenzhen. Lin pointed to the deep-rooted friendship between Amman and Beijing, noting that relations steadily expanded with "significant achievements" across various fields. China seeks to use the summit to build political trust, broaden economic and cultural cooperation, and align on multilateral issues to take bilateral relations to a new level, according to Lin. //Petra// HA
