  43/ Congo's Ebola outbreak becomes deadliest on record

Amman, August 17 (Petra) - The Democratic Republic of the Congo recorded more than 2,300 Ebola-related deaths, according to Reuters on Monday.

Congolese health authorities reported 2,325 deaths out of 4,945 confirmed cases during the ongoing outbreak. This total surpasses the previous record set between 2018 and 2020, which claimed 2,299 lives out of 3,381 confirmed infections.

The current outbreak is now the deadliest Ebola epidemic in the country's history, according to health officials.
