Salt, Aug. 18 (Petra) -- The Greater Salt Municipality hosted an expanded meeting on Tuesday to explore ways to strengthen national partnerships and boost investment in the city's cultural and architectural heritage.

The meeting brought together Ali Al-Bataineh, head of the Greater Salt Municipality Committee; Abdullah Al-Adwan, chairman of the Jordan Heritage Revival Company (JHRC); Hazem Malhas, investment and heritage expert; Samer Al-Mufleh, director general of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD); and a representative from Bloomberg Philanthropies, alongside municipal and organizational department heads.

Participants discussed the developmental landscape of Salt, a UNESCO World Heritage site, highlighting its competitive advantages as a potential national model for using heritage to drive economic growth and job creation.

Discussions focused on mechanisms to deepen inter-agency collaboration to launch high-impact investment projects capable of transforming the city's cultural assets into a productive economic sector.

Attendees also reviewed details of the project that won the Bloomberg Philanthropies Mayors Challenge. The pioneering initiative links the preservation of historic buildings with youth empowerment by creating employment opportunities in the restoration and heritage conservation sectors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants agreed on a set of practical recommendations and scheduled follow-up meetings to oversee implementation and measure the real-world impact of the proposed partnerships.
