Amman, Aug. 18 (Petra) -- Jordan’s tourism income rose by 24.9 percent in July to $926.2 million, narrowing the decline during the first seven months of the year to 0.2 percent, with total tourism income reaching $4.418 billion, according to preliminary data from the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

During the first seven months of the year, tourism income from Jordanians residing abroad fell by 8.9 percent, while income from U.S. nationals declined by 20.6 percent, European nationalities by 24.7 percent, and other nationalities by 39.7 percent.
In contrast, tourism income from Arab nationalities increased by 12.8 percent, while income from Asian nationalities rose by 3.9 percent.

The preliminary data also showed that tourism spending by Jordanians and residents increased by 0.3 percent in July to $248.1 million.

During the first seven months of the year, tourism spending declined by 7.5 percent to $1.154 billion.
