23/ Jordan, UAE Discuss Security Cooperation
Amman, Aug. 26 (Petra) -- Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Maaytah on Wednesday received UAE National Guard Commander Maj. Gen. Saleh Al Ameri and an accompanying delegation at the PSD headquarters to discuss bilateral security cooperation. The two sides reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation, develop security operations, expand training programs, and exchange specialized expertise and technologies, with a focus on improving preparedness and coordination in addressing common security challenges. Maaytah stressed the strategic relations between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates and the support extended by the leaderships of both countries, noting the importance of building on existing partnerships and expanding cooperation in support of shared interests, security, and stability. He indicated that the PSD, in line with Royal directives, continues to strengthen partnerships with security agencies in Arab and other countries and draw on accumulated expertise to enhance operational readiness and develop security and humanitarian services. Al Ameri emphasized the importance of further developing joint programs in training, capacity building, and modern security technologies to strengthen institutional capabilities and improve security agencies’ ability to respond to evolving challenges. He also noted the PSD’s experience and development in operational, technical, and service systems, stressing the importance of continued cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the two sides. The visiting delegation was briefed by the Director of the Planning and International Cooperation Department on the PSD’s strategic priorities, including the development of security operations, human resources, and ongoing modernization programs and projects. Maaytah and the delegation also toured the Operations and Control Directorate, where they reviewed technical and technological systems used at the Command and Control Center. The Director of Operations and Control briefed them on security operations management, the use of modern technology to support field decision-making, and measures aimed at improving response times within the PSD’s round-the-clock security system. //Petra// AO
