47/ Nama’a Program to Promote Students’ Holistic Development Concludes in Southern Jordan Valley
Southern Jordan Valley District, Feb. 1 (Petra) – Activities of the closing meeting of the Integrating Social-Emotional Learning for Holistic Development in Public Schools (Nama’a) concluded on Sunday in the Southern Jordan Valley. The program is implemented by the Queen Rania Teacher Academy under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. The event was held at Umm Al-Hasheem Mixed Basic School Theater, with the participation of 130 participants from 14 public schools, in addition to representatives of the academy, the ministry, and educational staff. It was sponsored by the Director of the Southern Jordan Valley District Education Directorate, Ouda Darabah. The closing meeting marked the culmination of an educational and training process carried out by the academy in Southern Jordan Valley schools, aimed at strengthening students’ social and emotional learning skills and supporting teachers in integrating these skills into the classroom environment, contributing to balanced and comprehensive academic and personal development. The event featured a diverse program that included opening speeches, an introductory activity, and an artistic segment presented by students of Fatima Al-Zahra School. It also included educational theatrical scenes titled "My Bag Is My Identity" and "In Nama’a We Grew with Hearts and Minds," in addition to a video presentation entitled "Our Journey in the Southern Jordan Valley with Social and Emotional Learning," and a segment titled "What We Learned from Nama’a," during which students expressed their experiences and the program’s impact on them. The meeting also included a tour of the achievements and exhibitions of the participating schools, where attendees viewed projects and outputs implemented by teachers and students under the Nama’a program. These reflected the development of social and emotional learning skills, students’ ability to work in teams, communicate effectively, solve problems, and apply what they learned in various educational and life situations.
