10/ Prime Minister Participates in World Governments Summit; Holds High-Level Meetings in Dubai
Dubai, Feb. 3 (Petra) – Prime Minister Jafar Hassan joined heads of state and government leaders from nearly 60 nations today at the opening of the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai.
The global gathering, which includes heads of international organizations and academic institutions, serves as a premier platform for shaping the future of governance through innovation and cross-border collaboration.
On the summit's sidelines, Prime Minister Hassan met with His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court.
They underscored the summit’s vital role in exchanging expertise and forging new partnerships to modernize government operations.
Their discussions centered on strengthening the robust bilateral ties between Jordan and the UAE, specifically within economic and investment frameworks. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in alignment with the visions of His Majesty King Abdullah II and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Key emphasis was placed on leveraging the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to drive mutual prosperity.
In separate diplomatic engagements, the Prime Minister held talks with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Masrour Barzani.
These meetings focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing regional developments, with a shared emphasis on intensifying efforts to ensure regional security and stability.
The 2026 edition of the summit, which hosts over 6,000 participants, focuses on five strategic pillars:
– Global Governance and Effective Leadership – Societal Wellbeing and Human Capability – Economic Prosperity and Emerging Opportunities – The Future of Cities and Demographic Shifts – Future Frontiers and Upcoming Opportunities
Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Najdawi, attended the meetings. Since its inception in 2013, the WGS has remained a critical forum for harnessing advanced technology and innovation to address the world’s most pressing challenges.
